PHNI-JP079 幽世離レ Kakuriyo Hanare (Terrors of the Netherroot)

Normal Trap Card

(1) Target 1 monster in your opponent’s GY; Special Summon it to their field, then you can banish 1 monster they control, then return 1 of your opponent’s banished monsters to the GY.

(2) If this card is in your GY, except the turn it was sent there: You can banish it, then target 1 Level 1 monster in your GY; shuffle it into the Deck, then you can Set 1 “Terrors of the Underroot”, “Terrors of the Overroot”, or “Terrors of the Netherroot” directly from your Deck.


Note: This card if it was to be consistent should be the same as the Level 1 monster, but the TCG referred to both it and the first trap as “Underroot”.


Of note, the original trap (Underroot) was more “the lands across the sea”, a la Avalon. Basically the Other World. This one is more ‘world of ghosts and dead souls’, a place things were confined, a place that’s dark and miserable.

Je m'attendais à quelque chose de plus puissant en voyant la condition. Ca reste quand même un monstre qui se spé chaque tour mais le fait de la remélanger dans le deck l'empêche d'être hyper broken

Du filler osef pour la grande majorité, sauf peut-être ce premier monstre que je trouve très amusant sur le principe mais difficile à faire fonctionner !



PHNI-JP030 Genroukan no Shisha / Envoy of the Wax State

Illusion/Effect, FIRE, Level 3, ATK 800, DEF 1800

You can only use the 1st effect of this card’s name once per turn.

(1) When an opponent’s monster declares an attack: You can Special Summon this card from your hand.

(2) If this card battles a monster, neither can be destroyed by that battle.

(3) At the end of your opponent’s Battle Phase: You can make all Attack Position monsters your opponent currently controls unable to change their battle position, be used as material for a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Summon, also have their effects negated until the start of their next Battle Phase.


TL note: The name could be based on “Genrou” (written as 元老), which is a general name for a group of wise, elderly men. The “kan” is a manor or similar, so this monster would be an envoy from a manor where someone of high authority/importance lives. “Genrou”, however, is written as “illusion” + “wax”.

(2) During your Main Phase: You can reduce the Levels of as many other face-up monsters currently on the field as possible by 1, and if you do, increase this card’s by the number of monsters whose Level was reduced this way.

(3) During your Battle Phase or your opponent’s Main Phase, if this card’s Level is 8 or higher (Quick Effect): You can destroy 1 other card on the field, and if you do, this card’s Level becomes 5.

Note: The name is written as “child spirit tea jar”. The first word is a homonym for “nursery rhyme”, and there is one that probably fits the description: Zuizuizukkorobashi.

(1) Place 1 monster from your Deck face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell.

(2) You can banish this card from your GY; place 1 monster from your Deck face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Trap.


Note:This card’s name is a pun on 目白押し, which is an expression for crowding large numbers of people, based on how the white-eye birds sit together on tree branches, but replacing the last word (pushing) for “pressure”.

J'aime beaucoup le premier monstre illusion qui peut vite fait être bien dans un deck stall.


La dernière carte magie sera très utile notamment dans un deck gardien de la porte … enfin c'est ce que je dirai si les conditions d'activation n'étaient pas aussi sévère. Quel potentiel gâché!
